Natural Disasters Are A Divine Wake Up Call

Natural Disasters Are A Divine Wake Up Call

If the LA fires don’t put the fear of God in you then I don’t know what would – such brutal and widespread devastation. Tens of thousands of homes and businesses burned to the ground. Poof…gone. Can you imagine? One day you are enjoying the spoils of comfortable living in a beautiful part of the US and the next day it’s a barely recognizable, burnt to a crisp, apocalyptic hellscape. Unreal.

Look, I’m no fan of La-La-Land but I wouldn’t wish what happened to them on my worst enemy. What I do wish on them, or rather, pray will happen to them, especially the unwashed in Cali who were impacted directly by the wildfires is that they would close in with Christ like never before. Yep, I pray that a big ol’ demon-slaying spiritual awakening would rise out of those ashes and LA would indeed become the City of Angels.

For the Pharisees out there who think that’s a kookie idea, I’ll remind you that one of God’s top jobs is redeeming hellish places and people that the self-righteous have written off. King Jimmy put it this way…

“But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence.”
- 1 Cor. 1:27-29

I pray that the Holy Ghost rakes a bunch of Southern Californians into the Kingdom of God. Yep, I pray for a fresh Great Awakening to smack that land like never before and that Isaiah 61:3 would be fulfilled in real-time namely; “To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.”

Clash Ministries is here to do two things, namely, put brains and cojones on Christians. Yep, our holy job is renewing minds (Rom.12:1-2) and emboldening hearts (Prov.28:1). Your generosity helps us throttle the enemy by equipping God's people to live bold, wild and free in Him. You are a vital part of this ministry and we could not do this without you. Thank you for your faithful gifts and partnership and remember to always ... stay rowdy!

Run To The Battle 2 MIN READ ◦ DOUG GILES Then it happened when the Philistine rose and came and drew near to meet David, that David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet the Philistine. - 1Samuel 17:48. Most folks are so familiar with the story of David and Goliath that we’ve become a wee bit passé about the balls this kid had to confront the Philistine’s blathering giant. Think about it: David hears the champion of Gath spew his sputum about God just one time, and he said, “Oh, hell...

The Benefits of a Rude Awakening 14 MIN READ ◦ DOUG GILES I’ll never forget our friends inviting this so-called “Important Christian Couple” to a church where I was speaking. They rocked up, but as soon as it was over … poof … they were gone. Once we met up with our friends after the service, I asked them where the VIP Christian Dynamic Duo went. They said they left, and the wife didn’t like me because, and I quote, “I wasn’t her style of preacher. I was too matter-of-fact.” Yep, she didn’t...

Charlie Kirk or Charlie Sheen? 3 MIN READ ◦ DOUG GILES After Charlie Kirk was publicly assassinated, a wave of adoration, leading to a flood of promised imitation of Kirk’s devotion to Christ, swept the Church. Christian young men, in particular, vowed to follow in CK’s footsteps. I saw this one dude on TV who said he was going to follow Charlie’s lead “come hell or high water,” and I’m looking at this person and wondering: Are you talking about Charlie Sheen or Charlie Kirk? Charlie Kirk was...
