The Scripture's A Deadly Dagger To Demons

The Scripture's A Deadly Dagger To Demons

“The trumpet still plays the notes of war. You cannot sit down and put the victory wreath on your head. You do not have a crown. You still must wear the helmet and carry the sword. You must watch, pray, and fight. Expect your last battle to be the most difficult, for the enemy’s fiercest charge is reserved for the end of the day.”

- Charles Spurgeon

Paul says:

“and take … the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.” (Eph. 6:17).

Now everything shifts.

Up to this point—

it’s been defensive.

Protection.

Stability.

Position.

Now—

We are on the offense.

The sword is not for blocking.

It’s for cutting.

This is how you push back.

And most believers never fully use it.

They read Scripture.

They hear it.

They agree with it.

But they don’t apply it.

And a weapon not used—

is useless.

The Word of God is not decoration.

It’s not background noise.

It’s not a motivational quote.

It’s a weapon.

And Jesus showed exactly how to use it (Matt. 4).

When He was tempted—

He didn’t debate.

He didn’t explain.

He didn’t argue.

He responded:

“It is written.”

Every time.

Clear.

Direct.

Final.

That’s how you use the Word.

You don’t argue with lies—

you replace them with truth.

You don’t entertain deception—

you cut it.

And that requires something most people avoid:

Knowing the Word.

Not vaguely.

Not generally.

Specifically.

Because vague belief doesn’t win real battles.

You need precision.

You need to know:

What God said.

Where He said it.

And how to apply it.

Because when pressure hits—

you don’t have time to figure it out.

You either have it—

or you don’t.

And if you don’t—

you default to feelings.

And feelings—

don’t win fights.

Truth does.

But here’s the key:

The sword has to come out.

A sword in its sheath—

does nothing.

Same with truth in your head—

that never gets spoken.

You have to speak it.

Out loud.

Because speaking reinforces alignment.

It shifts your thinking.

It strengthens your position. When fear hits—

you don’t sit there quietly.

You declare truth.

When doubt hits—

you don’t absorb it.

You answer it.

That’s how this works.

The Word is not passive.

It’s active.

It engages.

And when you use it consistently—

you get sharper.

More precise.

More confident.

Because you’re not guessing anymore.

You’re operating from truth.

But here’s another part people don’t like:

The Word doesn’t just cut outward.

It cuts inward.

It corrects you.

Challenges you.

Exposes you.

And if you avoid that—

you weaken your ability to use it.

Because you’re not aligned with it.

So you don’t just use the Word.

You submit to it.

And that alignment—

gives it power in your life.

So when the moment comes—

you’re not reaching for something unfamiliar.

You’re using something you live in.

That’s the difference.

Between knowing about it—

and being equipped with it.

And in a war—

that difference matters.

That matters. Because everything else is critical— but this is central. The shield. In Roman warfare, shields weren’t small. They were large. Full-body coverage. And they were designed to stop arrows— especially flaming ones. That’s exactly what Paul says: “to...

Peace? In the middle of war? But this isn’t passive peace. This is a grounded movement. In Roman warfare,...
